This bearing was chosen because it came in a big bore with both a small outside diameter and width. It will be used for a 4th axis on a small CNC verticle mill so that the spindle can have a large hole in the centre and the body of the 4th axis can be made small in width. The drive is fairly slow with low radial and axial loading, and it is not anticipated that angular contact bearings will be needed instead of the simple deep row radial design. Having seals enables the design to be a complete compact package.
