💡 What is a pillow block bearing used for in CNC machines? This handy component helps keep shafts properly aligned and supports high-load rotary motion in drive systems. - Supports shaft alignment and bearing preload for smooth motion - Reduces friction and wear in ball screw and rail systems - Simplifies mounting on DIY CNC builds
Parts came in and everything looked good. I didn't open the box for a week. When I did However I didn't receive everything. I was missing some major parts I called and was told they were back ordered on a bunch of parts, 1 leadscrew and 2 followers, and 1 end block. I called only to be told they should have called to notify me it was a partial Shipment. Which is fine, if I knew about it. So now I wait 4-6 weeks for the rest of my order. Parts look great, order experience not great.
The vendor has good pricing but they need to include the information about each product like height and width, mounting hole size and spacing, sizing for screw drives so the proper couplings can be purchased.
This kit is impressive however take note..
The difference between working ball screw and raillength limits the linear bearing span to only5 inches. Adequate for light work. within that limiatation the 96 and 48 inch movement is possible.
However the maximum working length for the Z-axis is only 9 inches, again with 5 inch linear bearing span. Even 9 inches is adequate but the advertised specs need review before they are "guarenteed".
With even more difference between ball screw working length and the rail length this kit would be great for heavier duty work.
So much depends on the support framing for this kit which obviously is up to the buyer. Achieving rigidity with an 8 foot span is a challenge.
