A bushing, basically, is like a simple plain bearing that fits into a housing to create a surface for stuff to spin around—super common in rotary setups. There are a few types: a solid-sleeve bushing is just solid all the way through, a split bushing has a slit running along its length, and a clenched bushing is kinda like a split one but with a little "grab" or bend across the cut. Then there’s the flanged bushing, which is just a sleeve bushing with a lip or flange on one end that sticks out from the outside diameter (OD).
